Daily Gist

Turns a pile of email newsletters into a daily conversational podcast.

I built Daily Gist to solve my own problem: too many newsletters, not enough time to read them. Forward them once, and every morning two AI hosts synthesize the lot into a ten-minute conversation delivered to your podcast app over a private RSS feed. It isn’t a summary read aloud — cross-source synthesis merges overlapping stories into a single deeper discussion, so the episode feels made for you, because it is.

  • Three tiers — Free, Basic at $15/mo, and Special Edition at $25/mo with a 7-day trial
  • Premium adds on-demand episodes from newsletters and URLs, custom voices, a personalized greeting, intro music, and up to seven podcast collections
  • Ships over standard private RSS, so it plays in Apple Podcasts, Overcast, and Pocket Casts — no proprietary app to install
  • Landing page streams a real episode, so the product sells itself before signup
Results

Idea to first paying user in three months. Three paying subscribers today — all on Special Edition, the $25 top tier.

Lenny’s Evil Twin

Drop in a URL and Leonard — Lenny’s evil twin — roasts your product on a podcast.

Built for Lenny’s Data Hackathon: a RAG over five years of Lenny Rachitsky’s newsletter and podcast corpus that turns any company URL into a roast, delivered as an episode where Leonard tears the product apart and I argue for its life. It doubled as marketing for Daily Gist — I repurposed that pipeline end to end and shipped the whole thing in two weeks.

  • Every verdict lands as “Would ship” or “Wouldn’t ship,” with a gallery of pre-generated roasts of Spotify, Zoom, Anthropic, Figma, Notion and more
  • A “Fresh from Product Hunt” tab keeps a supply of new targets without anyone submitting anything
  • Distributed as a real show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and RSS — not just a web toy
  • Every roast funnels back to Daily Gist, which is how the hackathon build paid for itself

1,000 site visits and one premium-tier Daily Gist signup, built in two weeks on the repurposed Daily Gist pipeline.

TOTK Live Cave Coverage

Point a camera at your Zelda map and watch every missing cave light up.

I built this to help my sister 100% the caves in Tears of the Kingdom — a completion grind the game gives you almost no tooling for. It reads a live video feed of her in-game map, recognizes which caves she’s already found and cleared, and overlays every remaining one on an interactive Hyrule map. She pans across the map, hits analyze, and all 147 caves sort themselves into done, found, and still missing.

  • Tracks all 147 caves with a real status taxonomy — completed, found, unfound, and “can’t see” — plus a live coverage percentage
  • A pan tracker follows what the camera has covered, and a re-scan mode resolves anything the first pass couldn’t read
  • CSV export and import, so progress survives between sessions
  • Interface built in the game’s own Sheikah visual language, so it reads as part of the game rather than a spreadsheet
Results

She completed 100% of the game’s caves in a single session. Built in three weeks.
